PARAYAS Society Organises Tree Plantation on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary, Spreads Message of National Unity and Environmental Protection

Ranjit Singh Takker says protecting national unity, social harmony and the environment is the responsibility of every citizen

Sirsa, October 31: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and National Unity Day, PARAYAS Society organised an awareness programme at Government Middle School No. 2, near Gurdwara Shri Chilla Sahib, Sirsa, Haryana. During the programme, tree plantation activities were conducted with the participation of students to spread the message of national unity, integrity, patriotism, social harmony, humanity and environmental protection.

Addressing the students on the occasion, Ranjit Singh Takker, volunteer and social worker associated with PARAYAS Society, said that the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is an inspiring example of national unity, integrity, determination and dedication to the nation. He played a historic role in uniting India after independence. National Unity Day reminds us that the strength of our country lies in mutual cooperation, brotherhood, harmony and collective responsibility.

As part of the programme, students actively participated in tree plantation. Ranjit Singh Takker said that environmental protection has become one of the most important needs of the present time. Every individual should not only plant trees but also take responsibility for their proper care and protection. He encouraged students to plant trees on their birthdays and other special occasions and contribute towards protecting nature.

Highlighting the importance of education, he said that education is the strongest foundation for the development of individuals and society. He motivated students to study regularly, maintain discipline, respect their teachers and parents, keep their school and surroundings clean, and develop a spirit of social service. He also appealed to young people to stay away from social evils such as drug abuse and participate in sports, education and other positive and constructive activities.

Celebrate Diwali and Other Festivals in an Environment-Friendly Manner

During the programme, a special message was also shared with students about celebrating Diwali and other festivals in an environmentally responsible manner.

Ranjit Singh Takker said that festivals are symbols of our culture, traditions, love and brotherhood. The happiness of festivals should be celebrated in a way that does not harm the environment, animals, birds or any section of society.

He appealed to students and the general public to avoid the excessive use of firecrackers during Diwali. If firecrackers are used, people should prefer only certified green crackers that comply with prescribed standards. He also encouraged everyone to reduce air and noise pollution, conserve water and electricity, and contribute towards maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment.

He further emphasised that sharing happiness with underprivileged people, preferring homemade sweets, staying away from evils such as substance abuse and gambling, and respecting the festivals of all religions and communities are essential expressions of true social harmony.

Ranjit Singh Takker said that it is extremely important to develop a sense of patriotism, humanity, environmental responsibility and social service among children and young people. Today's students are tomorrow's responsible citizens and nation-builders. Therefore, every child should actively participate in education, cleanliness, nature conservation and community welfare activities.

Through this initiative, students were encouraged to uphold the values of national unity, mutual love, peace, brotherhood, a drug-free society and environmental protection. PARAYAS Society, through this programme, appealed to all sections of society to come forward and contribute towards nation-building and social welfare.

Appeal to Citizens

Let us follow the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and strengthen the unity and integrity of our nation. Let us plant more trees, contribute towards building a clean and drug-free society, and celebrate Diwali and all other festivals with love, peace, brotherhood and environmental responsibility.
